Try webCDwriter on KNOPPIX

You may now simply try webCDwriter on KNOPPIX 3.6 (boot Linux kernel 2.4.x, not 2.6.x).
  1. Boot the KNOPPIX CD
  2. Click the konsole icon in the bottom line of the desktop
  3. Enter the following commands
    wget http://JoergHaeger.de/download/webCDwriter-2.7.0-installer.sh
    su
    sh webCDwriter-2.7.0-installer.sh
    unset SUDO_COMMAND
    /etc/init.d/CDWserver start

  4. Open your web browser and try http://127.0.0.1 on the KNOPPIX machine or http://your_server on your network.
Note: webCDwriter will store the sessions on the RAM disk of KNOPPIX. That's why the size of the sessions is limited by the RAM of your system.
  5. Give a feedback :-)

You may now also try the commercial CDWserver Pro on KNOPPIX.

  1. Install the base system (see above)
  2. Make sure your system clock is valid
  3. Enter the following commands
    wget http://JoergHaeger.de/download/CDWserverPro-2.7.0-static.sh
    sh CDWserverPro-2.7.0-static.sh

  4. Get a free "14-day CDWserver Pro Trial License". Please note that this license currently limits the size of a single DVD session to 1 GB but you may write several sessions to a DVD.

The URL of the license key will be send to your eMail address. Don't worry, your address will not be given to third parties!
I would like to receive announces of new webCDwriter releases
  5. Visit http://your_server:12411/about.html to check the active license.
  6. If CDWserver Pro meets your requirements, buy a license key and simply save it as /etc/CDWserver/key.txt on the server.
